Experience the Natural Beauty of African Thatch

Our Thatch Bundle is an extraordinary roofing material that brings the essence of Africa to your doorstep. Made from the rare and unique Thamnochortus Insignis plant, which only grows along the southern tip of the African continent, this roofing material exudes authenticity and charm. With its organic texture and rustic appeal, our

will transport you to the picturesque landscapes of South Africa.

The Cape Reed plantation must grow an average of 6 years before being harvested. The growth period of other reed materials is only 6 months. This slower growth has many advantages, among them that the inner material of the plant grows in a solid and stable way, with an extremely high density. As a result, the product has a much higher resistance to rot and general deterioration compared to other reed materials.

By choosing our Cape Reed Thatch Bundle, you are not only enhancing the beauty of your property, but you are also making an eco-conscious decision. Since we are committed to sustainability and the preservation of the environment. The Thamnochortus Insignis plant is harvested ethically, ensuring the conservation of this unique species.

Built to Last – Exceptional Durability and Insulation

When treated and maintained correctly, Cape Reed thatch offers exceptional longevity and weather resistance. Its dense, fibrous structure provides natural insulation, keeping interiors cool in summer and warm in winter—perfect for Mediterranean and coastal climates like the Costa del Sol.

Additionally, the bundles are lightweight yet resilient, reducing structural strain while offering robust protection against the elements. When paired with Cape Reed Fireshield or other professional treatments, this thatch becomes an incredibly safe, durable, and sustainable roofing choice that outlasts synthetic alternatives.

Sustainable Craftsmanship for Eco-Conscious Living

At Cape Reed, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Each thatch bundle is harvested using environmentally responsible practices, ensuring the preservation of reed wetlands and local ecosystems. Our natural thatching materials are 100% renewable and biodegradable, providing a low-carbon, eco-friendly roofing solution for builders, architects, and homeowners who care about the planet.

By choosing Cape Reed Thatch Bundles, you’re not only investing in quality and style—you’re supporting a greener, more sustainable way of living.
